DIY popcorn for gifts

D other day my frend planned a karaoke session at her parents place actually more like karaoke under d tree... heheehehehe. Usually if there's a get together, gathering, etc.. i tend to bring d sweet stuff. Dis time round i decided to bring sum homemade popcorn. When i read those blogs on how easy they make 'em, n make it into gifts I tot i shud give it a try. I've done d popcorn before but wasnt sure bout turning it into gifts. I did it anyway.... went to d karaoke session, gave it to my frend, she pass d sweet gifts to every1. Every1 liked it, but d only problem d popcorn didnt stay crunchy. I just use d brown bag..... shud've sealed it properly using candy plastic bags. Anyhow.. lesson learned.. still it makes a cute gift.
 caramel popcorn.. yummy!
White choc funfetti. Learned 1 thing, melt d choc 1st n then pour it over d popcorn, bake it for awhile.
 The sweet yummy gift

DIY hairband part 1

I'm a sucker for Pinterest... just love 'em! U get to find things that look so interesting, information worth keeping and places u cudnt bothered to search u can easily get it here. For instance, i love love DIY crafts. Started like a year ago. I stumble upon few DIYs especially those flower making using fabrics or papers. For this post i made hairband for my niece... was sooooo excited! I got her to wear it which only lasted 5 min. But manage to snap a few pix :)

mom's bday 2012

I was suppose to bake a really nice decorated cake for her but didnt have time sooooooooo instead i have this rosewater which i only used it once n tot of making an exotic flavourful taste with simple decor. Guess it compensate with wateva i orgininally tot of doing... whateva dat means... LOL. Went n search for some cake recipes that has rosewater in the ingredients.

I chose a Middle eastern flavoured cake that has cardomom, lemon n rosewater. Covered it with vanilla buttercream frosting. The choc ganache is just to bind all the flavours together. The family loved it... they say it has this similar taste to 'kueh lapis sarawak'... ummmmmm ok. Adults will probably enjoy the cake but not the kids. Initially thought of adding this flavour to my cake biz buttttttt i'll probably need to do abit more tweaking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAK!!!!! x

I'm back!

I know i've been neglecting this blog for god knows how long, but let me tell u now.... I'm back!! The reason for my absence was due to the exciting venture I'm currently in. Remember i mentioned something about cake decorating, well it has turned into a permanent thing in my life now. I am proud to say that I'm officially a CAKE DECORATOR or CAKE DESIGNER (i prefer the latter sounds way cooler! LOL). Been doing it a year an a half, more of a home business. In the midst of all those decorating, I did squeeze few dive trips. THAT i can't resist! So for this year, I'm thinking of taking this cake decorating to another level. Will update on the progress. Oh yes! Now that i've installed Blogpress no reason for me NOT to update this blog. So for now let me show you some of the creations I've done and the recent trip to Sangalaki.

So happy I'm back ;)
